13 Days Budget Calving Migration Safari and Zanzibar Beach Holiday : This trip is a unique and surpassed safari tour experience in East Africa. Within 13 days, you will explore the vast plains of Serengeti and witness the Calving season in the southern Serengeti ecosystem, where more than 8,000 baby calves are born every day; in this area, you will have an opportunity to see the dramatic wildlife chaos as the lions and hyenas fights for a wildebeest-baby who born a minute ago. You will have your private safari vehicle and guide to help you discover this majestic Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem.  

During this trip, you will also visit the famous Tarangire National Park, a well-known area for its changing landscapes, Ngorongoro Crater, one of the seven wonders of Africa, and finally, relax on the exotic beach of Zanzibar island. 

The best time for this trip is from January to March. Still, if your schedule doesn’t fit here, we can create something similar to this to correlate with your preferred timeframe.

DAY 1. ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA.

At whatever time you arrive in Tanzania, our representative from East Africa Safari Guides will be right at the airport to transfer you to the hotel for relaxation. You will stay at Ilboru Safari Lodge, one of the best cost-friendly safari lodges located a few kilometers from Arusha town; it features comfy rooms, a good restaurant, a swimming pool, international cuisine, and a continental breakfast. 

If you arrive early, you can explore Arusha town or go to Serval Wildlife Sanctuary located in Sanya Juu, where you can take beautiful pictures with the animals closer to you, like Giraffes, Zebras, Lions, Cheetahs, Ostriches, to mention a few, this would one of the best experience you encounter while in Tanzania Safari Tours, is also possible to feed them.

DAY 2. TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK GAME DRIVE

Wake up and enjoy ground African coffee; later, join your wildlife safari tour guide, who will await you. You will drive to Tarangire National Park, located west of Arusha town. It will only take two hours to arrive there; after all the entrance formalities at the gate, you will start searching for animals.

Big baobab trees that have existed for thousands of years will greet you; some of the communities in Africa, especially the Maasai, extract oil from its fruits and use it as a cure for high blood pressure. These giant trees also shelter some nocturnal animals like bush babies and others. During the dry season, Elephants use baobab trees to cool their thirst.

Alongside, you will also be able to spot hundreds of animals such as Lions, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, elands, and more than 500 species of birds living here.

You will see as much as your eyes can see! You will celebrate the lunch in the bush.

It’s evening hours, so we will make our way out of the pack and drive to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge; this beautiful small lodge is located on the animal corridor; during your time here, you will see many wild animals going around the lodge area.

Dinner will be offered tonight.

DAY 3. MTO WA MBU VILLAGE ACTIVITIES.

After breakfast, you will drive to the village of Mto wa Mbu, where you will participate in local activities; you will visit Maasai village, interact with them, and see how they live; you will experience their real life. 

You will go to the nearby farmlands and see how people do the cultivation processes. 

Visit local schools or orphanage centers close to the village.

Mto Wa Mbu Tour

The local market is another experience you should take advantage of. In contrast, in Mto wa Mbu Village, seeing local women vendors is another fantastic experience. 

Visiting this area will lead you to think of yourself, comparing the Western culture and lifestyle with the African life cycle. You will think about how important it is to appreciate the little things we’ve in life.

DAY 4. NGORONGORO CRATER GAME DRIVE AND PROCEED TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Shining day! Delicious African breakfast prepared from organic materials.

Drive to Ngorongoro Crater floor, a long-time unbroken caldera, 600 meter deep crater. Home to 40,000 wild animals, together with your Tanzania driver guide, you will explore the richness of Ngorongoro Crater. You will see all the BIG-5 animals: Lions, Elephants, African Buffaloes, Rhinos, and Leopards, together with other many animals like Zebras, impalas, vultures, flamingoes, hippos, hyenas, wild dogs, and birds like Egyptian goose, marabou storks, and many others.

We ascend from the crater and begin our drive to Serengeti National Park.

On this day of your 13 Days Budget Calving Migration Safari and Zanzibar , you will stay at Tanzania Serengeti Bush Camp, a budget safari camp that still offers a fantastic safari taste in Serengeti; there are free Wi-Fi, private washrooms and bathroom, hot water showers, and the best foods ever.

DAY 5. FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Central Serengeti is an area to visit in Serengeti National Park; it connects the other three ecological areas: Southern Serengeti, Western Serengeti, and Eastern Serengeti. Your guide is native to this area. They know the best place to take you on an excellent sightseeing!

Explore the endless savannah of Serengeti and drive to the famous area called “Nyuma Ya Nyumba.” Here. If you are lucky, you will see the lions and cheetahs.

You can go back to the camp for lunch or take it with you to eat in the bush.

Stay at Tanzania Serengeti Bush Camp for the next night.

Day 6 & 8. NDUTU AREA/ ECOSYSTEM AREA- CALVING SIGTSEEING.

On day 6: After breakfast, we will drive for about one hour to the southern Serengeti National Park; our next three nights here will be dedicated to witnessing the famous world’s most remarkable Migration as we see millions of wildebeest give birth in a single day. Also, it is the best time to see all the big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as they are always close to this movement. 

Visit Lake Ndutu and Masek, famous for their animal life support in this region.

Never hesitate to share your expectations with your safari guide and tell them what you want to see and experience. This is the adventure of a lifetime, and opportunity never comes twice; you want to fly a hot-air safari balloon in Ndutu. This is the best time to view the herds of wildebeests and zebras from the above.

Day 9 -12. FLY TO ZANZIBAR

Day 9: After the morning meal, we will drive back to Arusha, head straight to the airport, and catch a small light aircraft to Zanzibar. 

Upon arrival at the airport, a representative from East Africa Safari Guides will be waiting to transfer you to Jambiani Beach, where you will stay at Sharazād Boutique Hotel for the next four nights. 

Zanzibar is the world’s best island; there are many water sports activities, such as snorkeling, diving, scuba, and kayaking; you can also swim with the giant dolphins on Earth. 

Since Arabs colonized Zanzibar, they have followed some of the Arab culture, from the architecture, foods, and dressing style.

You can also visit some of the famous slave trade in East Africa Coastal region, the slave market in Stone Town, and the first parliamentary building in East Africa.

Spice tour and Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park are also some activities you can do.

Once in Zanzibar and you want to do any activities, you can book with us directly, and our team will facilitate the rest.

Day 13. RETURN HOME

Our guide will be ready at the reception to help you with your luggage and transfer you to the airport.

The regular check-out at the hotel is at 11 AM. If you have a late flight, it is possible to book a day room use at an extra cost; however, this requires early confirmation. It is advisable to talk to our East Africa tour sales team in advance to help you arrange all the logistics.
