Day 1: Arrival and fly to Tarangire

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will board a domestic flight to Kuro airstrip located in Tarangire National Park. It is just half an hour from Kilimanjaro airport. Your lodge representative will be at Kuro airstrip waiting for you. A short wildlife viewing en route to your lodge will bring you closer to Tarangire’s giant elephants for the first time.

Upon arrival at the lodge, attendants will warmly welcome and introduce you to the lodge areas. Relaxing and figuring out about the coming adventure is an excellent idea.

Day 2: Explore Tarangire National Park

Wake up a bit early and enjoy the sunrise. Since our selected lodges are located in remote areas to ensure your privacy, this morning can be ideal concept to engage on Yoga practice for your physical and mental awareness, only make it a choice if you are a yogi or yogini.

Breakfast will always be waiting for you; after breakfast, you will start exploring the beauty of Tarangire National Park. The park is characterized by a savannah environment comprising bushes and the thickest areas with short trees and endless plains similar to Serengeti National Park and many baobab trees. The only water source in the park is the Tarangire River, which is a water lifeline for many wild animals during the dry season.

All the Big-5 animals are found in Tarangire except the Rhino, so while there, you may spot leopards, lions, buffalo, elephants, and unnumbered grass eaters.

During the day, you will drive to the picnic area for lunch, followed by a final game drive before calling it a day and returning to your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

On the 3rd day of your 10 Day Serengeti Fly in Safari, Wake up in the morning and embark on a walking safari with an armed ranger. Discover the unnoticed creatures you could not see on the vehicle by foot. You will be able to come closer to nature and wild animals while following your guide’s instructions. After two hours of nature walking, you will return to your lodge for breakfast and a final game drive.

After having lunch at your lodge, you will drive out of the park and slowly to the nearest town of Mto wa Mbu, where your overnight lodge is nestled. If you travel during the summertime, it will be an excellent idea to unwind by the pool and enjoy the stunning view of the Rift Valley from your hotel.

Later in the evening, you will sit by the firepit and reflect on the memories created by this unforgettable Tanzania wildlife experience.

Day 4: Mto wa Mbu Local Activities

Tanzania is rich in local activities, as it boasts over 120 tribes; you will be amazed how people unite and live together in harmony. Mto wa Mbu is a small town with different cultural backgrounds. Your guide will take you to the local villages where you will find yourself in the regular daily activity of the local people. You will have a chance to taste local cuisine and visit a local market where people get their daily needs. Not enough, you will ride a local three-wheel transport named Tuk-tuk for extra experience.

Mto wa Mbu has a lot to offer, depending on your preference.

Since the lodge is not far, you may return to enjoy a hot lunch and unwind by the pool. It is a leisure safari, and there is nothing to hurry. Enjoy your day!

Day 5: Descend to Ngorongoro Crater

On the 5th day of your 10 Day Serengeti Fly in Safari, following your breakfast, you will depart to Ngorongoro Crater. A journey of 30 minutes will take you to the Crater’s main entrance gate, where you will finish the registration process and continue your journey. The other 30 minutes will be enough to drive you to the Crater descending gate for a final check-in. While there, you can see the crater floor from a bird’s eye view.

Descending 600 meters to the crater floor, you will see the wonders of Africa. It’s the only Crater where life exists. There is abundant wildlife inside the Crater. It is a home of black rhinos, a pride of lions, elephants, hippos, hyenas, zebras, and resident wildebeest. Unfortunately, you will not find giraffes here.

Enjoy your private lunch during the day in a picnic area near the hippo pool for an excluded experience. Later, return to your lodge for relaxation and wait for the sunset and dinner at your lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Walking Safari and Maasi Cultural Tour

On the 6th day of your 10 Day Serengeti Fly in Safari, Nothing feels better than walking in the natural habitat; you feel connected—just you, your armed ranger, guide, and your packed lunch off to the Empakaai crater. A short hike of 5km, almost 2 hours, will direct you to the lake, where you can come across troops of baboons, buffalos, zebras, and many flamingos.

You will serve your lunch inside the Crater and later go out to the Maasai households. Maasai is the remaining ethnic group that still preserves their traditional customs. You will have a chance to enter their houses and see how they live, keeping their cattle, milking, how to make fire and cooking. The experience will be a lifetime memory as you immerse yourself in the cultural swamp and wilderness.

Day 7: Fly to Serengeti National Park

The day to touch the untamed beauty of Savannah. After breakfast, followed by a transfer to Lake Manyara airstrip, you will board your light aircraft to Seronera airstrip in central Serengeti.

Upon arrival, your lodge representative driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to the lodge. While on the road, you will have a short game drive as you stop here and there to spot the giants of Savannah.

The lodge has modern facilities such as a swimming pool, en suite bathroom, outdoor shower, and Wi-Fi, so it is time to unwind, enjoy lunch, and go for an evening game drive.

Day 8 & 9: Explore Serengeti National Park

Serengeti is magnificent; start your day by searching for the big five animals, such as lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, and elephants. Serengeti has bestowed different landscapes that will leave you in awe.

A hot air balloon safari in Serengeti is one of the activities you should take advantage of while in Serengeti; this activity is organized early in the morning and followed by a champagne toast after landing. Another non-regular activity we highly recommend is bush lunch and breakfast.

Day 10: Fly to Kilimanjaro Airport for Your Departure

On the last day to bid farewell in Serengeti, after your heavy breakfast, your transfer guide will drive you to Seronera airstrip, where you will take a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch a connecting flight.
