Our trip will commence in Arusha by overland and ends in Serengeti, where you will fly back to Kilimanjaro; you will share all of your international flight itinerary with our Tanzania safari specialist team so they can arrange the flight from Serengeti to Kilimanjaro on time and accurately.

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, your private transfer guide will meet you and drive you to the hotel or lodge in Arusha. The airport is 1 hour from Arusha city; your guide is complete with knowledge about the city and the entire country, so don’t hesitate to ask as many questions as you may have.

Depending on your arrival time, you take a short town excursion with your guide and get to see around the city; visit local markets in Arusha, such as Tengeru market, Soko kuu, or Kilombero market where you’ve chance to local women trading different products like tomatoes, ripe bananas, onions, mangoes, corns, millets, rice, cassavas, yams, traditional foods, honey and much more. You can also visit the Maasai Market in Arusha around the clock tower, where you can buy handcrafts made by Maasai women, and you will also see them weaving baskets, sewing clothes or local carpets by hand, and some good local souvenirs.

Day 2: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Today, our Tanzania adventure safari begins; after a healthy breakfast, your private Tanzania safari guide will pick you up and start a short drive to Tarangire National Park. On the way to the park, you will see small boys wearing red stripped bed sheets looking after cattle at East Africa Safari Guides; seeing all that will undoubtedly create a fantastic memory and experience rarely seen in Western countries.

After arriving at the entrance gate and finishing all formalities, you will proceed to the park for wildlife sightseeing.

What animals will I see in Tarangire?

The park is small and unpopular. Only a few tourists visit the Tarangire; landscapes and fascinating animals make the Tarangire safari tour the best option for any first safari goers and repeat travelers. In Tarangire, you will see many wild animals and Big cats: Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Zebras, Giraffes, African buffaloes, Wildebeest, Hyena, Baboons, Jackal, Hartebeest, Common warthog, Aardvark, Monkey, Spotted hyena, African wild dog, and more than 400 species of birds. Tarangire is best during the dry season because it is easy to spot animals. After all, they drink at the Tarangire River; you can also see more than 300 elephants at once due to the Elephant migration from nearby wildlife areas like Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Enduimet Wildlife Management Area.

Later in the afternoon, you will have lunch inside the park before continuing with a short game drive, and in the evening, drive to your lodge in Karatu town for a night stay.

Day 3: Karatu town to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Highlands.

We will leave behind the bustling town of Karatu and drive to Serengeti National Park; to reach Serengeti, we must transverse through Ngorongoro Highland. We will stop at the place known as Point View, where you stand on the rim to see the breathtaking view of the famous Ngorongoro Caldera, which is 600 meters deep; the landscape is quite attractive and thrilling.

Afterward, you will continue with the journey to Serengeti. On the way, you will see Maasai taking care of their cows with zebras and wildebeests; Ngorongoro is the only place on earth where animals and humans interact.

We will arrive in Serengeti in the evening; Serengeti Park is famous for its beautiful views and panoramic landscape. This endless savannah of Serengeti offers an authentic safari experience in Tanzania; during your safari tour in Tanzania, Serengeti is a place to miss in your safari itinerary.

You can engage in an evening game drive in Serengeti or go to the lodge for relaxation, waiting for the following day’s game viewing with your private safari vehicle in Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti Game viewing

After breakfast, you will embark on a morning Serengeti game viewing; this is a private safari, which means just you and your driver at your own pace. Tanzania safari tours are complete with a visit to Serengeti National Park; you will have time to explore every corner of the Serengeti, searching for Big-five and other rare animals like Rhinos. If you visit between June and October, our tour operator for Serengeti safaris will allocate you to Northern Serengeti specifically for Wildebeest Migration Safari; from December to March, you will visit Southern Serengeti/Ndutu Serengeti to witness the Calving Season Serengeti Migration.

What animals will I see in Serengeti?

Serengeti is a wildlife sanctuary where you will see animals out of your bucket list, such as Honey badger, Hartebeest, Banded mongoose, Grant’s gazelle, leopards, cheetahs, lizards, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeest, hyenas, baboons, Oribi Antelope, klipspringer, Kirk’s Dik-Dik, bushbucks, Bush-babies, buffaloes with variety species of birds including African Darters, African Grey Hornbill, African Harrier Hawk, African Spoonbill, Bateleur, Black Headed Heron, Egyptian Goose, Green Wood Hoopoe, Hamerkop, Kori Bustard, Lappet Faced Vulture, Martial Eagle, Ruppell’s Vulture, Southern Masked Weave, Striped Kingfisher and many other species.

You can also fly a Serengeti hot-air safari balloon and explore Serengeti from above; flying over Serengeti’s plains is an excellent and authentic African safari experience.

After an extensive wildlife viewing of a day, you will return to the lodge for an evening stay to share wild stories with Maasai and your private guide safari guide by the bush fire while enjoying a glass of wine.

Day 5: Half-day game drive – fly to Kilimanjaro airport.

Shine and Rise! Wake up early to witness the sunrise, go for a delicious breakfast, and then embark on a short game viewing with a packed lunch. Look for the animals that you haven’t seen in the last two days, around the afternoon or evening, depending on your International flight; your driver guide will escort you to Seronera airstrip, where you will hop on a short flight to Kilimanjaro airport to connect the flight back home.
