DAY 1. ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Arusha National Park. This park is 35 kilometers from Arusha town and 75 kilometers from Moshi town. The park is the best for wildlife viewing; since there are no Lions in Arusha National Park, it’s considered safe for a guided nature walk.
Explore the area with your guide; you will see many wild animals, like giraffes, elephants, troops of monkeys, zebras, buffaloes, waterbucks, elands, warthogs, and birds like Little egret, Grey crowned cranes, Lesser flamingos, Common ostrich, hamerkop, spur-winged goose, pochards and grey parrot.
Inside the park, there’s a lake, Momella, which is the source of life for all fauna and flora in the park.
Arusha National Park is also home to the second-highest Mountain in Tanzania, Mount Meru.
After an extensive game drive, we will enjoy our lunch near the waterfall situated in the center of the forest while listening to bird sounds.
We will return to your lodge in the evening hours.
DAY 2. ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After your breakfast in the morning, we will head to Tarangire National Park, located two hours from Arusha town. The park is the best combo for Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari itineraries. Home to the largest herds of Elephants on Earth, the dry season is the best time to enjoy the game drive in the park. Over 5,000 animals, including zebras and wildebeests, flock to the park. It makes it a superb time for wildlife viewing.
You see different animals and some of the BIG-5: Lions, Leopards, and buffaloes that inhabit the area. You can also fly a hot-air balloon and do a walking safari where you get close to wild animals like giraffes, baboons, and impalas.
Enjoy the bush lunch in the jungle, and it is a miracle!
Later, exit the park and drive to Karatu, where we will overnight at Hhando Coffee Lodge, which was built at the highlands of the Ngorongoro rim.
DAY 3. NGORONGORO CRATER GAME DRIVE.
On the 3rd day of your 4 Days Unforgettable Tanzania Safari Experience, after breakfast, together with your private safari guide, depart for a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater; Ngorongoro Crater is one of the seven wonders of Africa as well as the eight wonders of the World. The first eye catch is the vast caldera’s breathtaking view; you will quickly appreciate why these honors were given to Ngorongoro Crater.
All BIG-5 reside here: Leopards, Lions, Rhinos, Buffaloes, and Elephants alongside over 120 mammal species.
In the center of the crater, there is Lake Magadi, a perfect place to see the hippos and flamingoes.
The whole day is dedicated to your day game drive. Later in the evening, return to your lodge for a night stay.
DAY 4. LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
It is less visited but offers an unbeaten safari experience. Any northern Tanzania safari itinerary should include this park. You will probably see the herds of buffaloes grazing together on a cheerful morning or pass the hyenas, leopards, or lions carrying back home the last night’s remaining kill. You will see the hyenas crying under the acacia tree, trying to grab a hanged prey by a leopard.
Morning is the best time to participate in the game drive when the animals are very active; the park is greenish all year through because of its underground water. The troops of baboons are the ones who welcome visitors to the park as they camp closer to the entrance gate.
The park is located in the center between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. The water benefits not only the animals but also the community living around the park, and they use water for irrigation purposes and fishing.
The evening is approaching, and we will drive back to Arusha, where we will arrive late.
